The past three weeks or so have been very frustrating. At the end of December my fridge started playing up. The motor would run almost continusly, in the end I had to switch it on and off manually, okay during the day but not so good during the night. I thought the problem was with the thermostat and searched the internet to find a dealer that could help me. It’s a Waeco CR-0080 12v compressor fridge, the CR range of fridge’s are fitted to thousands of motorhome’s, camper’s and caravans and Waeco is now part of the huge Dometic Group so I didn’t think I would have a problem, how wrong I was. I contacted half a dozen motorhome and caravan companies in the area of Spain I’m in, four said outright they couldn’t help me. One said they had a new thermostat in stock and sent me an email confirming it. I drove 60 kilometres to the dealership only to find they had made a mistake and would have to order me one and had no idea how long it might take to arrive. The final one said they would take a look for me, but after driving to see them they seemed uncertain as to what the problem was, I was back to square one. Eventually I found a company in the UK that could send me the new thermostat via courier service, finally I thought I’d managed to solve the problem and placed an order. I tracked the package, it was dispatched on January 15th. The tracker said it had arrived in Spain and was in the local depot waiting to be delivered on the 18th stating it would be delivered on January 22nd. On the morning of the 22nd I checked the tracking details only to read that the package wouldn’t now be delivered until the 26th. I have little confidence that it will ever arrive, but am trying to remain positive, what else can I do
