Another adventure begins. My loose plan for the summer is to head north to Nordkapp, but there will be a lot to see along the way.
Leaving Rome I traveled north along the E45 towards Ravenna and Venezia, I stopped for lunch on a quite stretch of road, looking forward to the coming adventure.
Crossing into Slovenia I followed a road along the Soca River with its amazing aquamarine waters.
Looking down onto the river I could really appreciate the colour of the water
I passed a huge amount of wood stacks like the ones above, I have never seen wood set up like this before
Some of the roads were quite poor but still interesting like this narrow tunnel cut through the rocks
I passed many picturesque villages, this one with a statue of Ivan Grohar
I crossed briefly back into Italy and found a great free camping spot at Lago Superiore
It gave me a great view through the window
The view was much different in the morning with low clouds hanging over the mountains, still with a little snow on them
I was very close to where the borders of Italy, Slovenia and Austria meet so I crossed into Austria and made my way to Wildenstein, where I found a super free camping spot close to the Wildensteiner Waterfalls
Although not the biggest waterfall in Austria it was impressive as it cascaded down 54 meters into a small pool
Close to the Wildensteiner Waterfall is the town of Gallizien where I saw this unusual water feature
Moving on I spent a couple of days free camping by a small leisure lake, another great place to camp and great sunsets to.
During the day the lake looked beautiful, there were some lovely walks in the area as well.
Waking in the morning I noticed these amazing siders webs in the hedgerows
Driving along I saw this huge wooden bicycle - "Big Boys Toys"
Another quiet lunch stop
It seems I've been travelling all my life. For the past eight years I've been following a simple, nomadic lifestyle, living and traveling full time in a camper van and meeting with other like minded travellers.
